24-70mm F/2.8 Canon RF Lens Review: Is it worth the $,2500 Price Tag?!

Why I Use the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8

This lens is my go-to for shoots where I need flexibility and speed. I use it during wedding ceremonies when I can’t physically move around too much, for tight indoor locations like getting-ready suites, and during first looks when switching between primes isn’t an option. It's also perfect for family portraits, bridal parties, and even flat lays.

For travel? This lens is my one-and-done solution. Its 24-70mm focal length covers everything from wide scenic shots to closer portraits, and I also use it to film BTS content for my photography channel.

While I prefer shooting portraits at f/1.2 or f/1.4 with primes like the 85mm or 50mm, this lens still holds its own. The f/2.8 aperture gives nice background separation, and it’s great for capturing wider group shots or active kids when photographing families. Just be mindful of lens distortion, especially at 24mm or 35mm when photographing people up close.
