Lupine Wildflower Field Maternity Photoshoot at Van Lierop Park | Washington State Outdoor Portraits

This public park is an incredible hidden gem just outside of Seattle that blooms with a wildflower field in the springtime. Van Lierop Park gives you so much beautiful, open greenery and color, making it one of my favorite spots in Washington State for outdoor maternity photos.

This photoshoot was done at midday, so the lighting was constantly shifting from full sunshine to shade whenever the sun tucked behind the clouds. Shooting in direct sun can feel tricky, but we used the changing weather to our advantage to get a fun mix of bright, sun-drenched shots and softer images. The Nikon Z9 did an incredible job handling both lighting situations seamlessly. I paired it with my Nikkor S 85mm f/1.8 lens to get that gorgeous subject-background isolation, giving the images a soft, dream-like quality that keeps all the focus on Mom and her bump.

My editing style is always bright, vibrant, and true-to-life. Accurate skin tones are super important to me, and I always want your photos to look timeless so you can enjoy them years down the road without them feeling trendy or dated.
