Lesbian Couple Engagement Photoshoot at Elk Fields in Front of Mt. Si, North Bend, Washington

Engagement photoshoots are one of my favorite subjects to photograph! This WLW couple is one month out from their wedding, and we spent their session out at Elk Fields in North Bend, Washington, right in front of Mount Si, about thirty minutes from Seattle. This was my third time at the location and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite hidden gems in Western Washington.

Partway through the session, a big herd of elk actually wandered into the field with us. It was such a magical moment with wildlife, and we were so lucky to be positioned where the elk ended up only about a hundred yards away in the background of some of the shots. You truly never know what's going to happen shooting out in the Pacific Northwest.

My photography aesthetic and editing leans true to life while still keeping the color rich, because a backdrop like Mount Si deserves to look as good in photos as it does in person. Throw in a herd of wild elk, and you get the kind of engagement photo shoot you could never plan even if you tried. For this photoshoot I used a Nikon Z8 paired with the Nikkor S 24-70mm lens, and the S 85mm f/1.2 lens.
