Discovery Park Anniversary Photoshoot with Candid Posing Tips For Photographing Real Couples

Discovery Park in Seattle is one of my favorite locations to photograph at. It has a variety of backdrops, from sandy beaches to evergreen forests. It’s also where my clients, Olivia and Jack, got engaged years ago!

In this beginner photography tutorial, I have my best detail tips for posing clients in this photography tutorial. If you like the look of candid prompts but feel they translate as awkward, some minor details you’re overlooking make a big difference in the result.

Posing clients can be challenging, but with practice and attention to detail, you can create stunning portraits that your clients will love. Remember to pay attention to the small details such as hand and foot placement, shoulder position, and chin angle. With these tips, you'll be well on your way to creating natural, beautiful poses that your clients will treasure for years to come.

To learn more about posing clients, I encourage you to check out my YouTube tutorial. I go into even more detail about these tips and share some additional tricks for creating natural poses.
